HARKIN STATE DIRECTOR TO HOLD “LISTENING POST” AT OTTUMWA PUBLIC LIBRARY
Friday, February 1, 2008
Senator Encourages Area Residents to Stop By,
Share Concerns and Ask Questions
DES
MOINES – Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) announced
today that his State Director, Dianne Liepa,
will hold a “Listening Post” on Wednesday,
February 13, 2008 at the Ottumwa Public Library
to help him continue his work on behalf of
Iowa’s interests. Liepa will bring
Harkin’s mobile office to the Ottumwa to hear
the concerns of Wapello County residents and be
of assistance to those with questions about
their dealings with the federal
government.
“Our mobile office is a
great way for my staff and me to keep in touch
with Iowans,” said Harkin. “Folks don’t have to
travel far to find out what I’m working on or
how I can help them with a problem. Every year
my mobile office reaches out to all 99 counties
bringing information and assistance to the
people of our state.”
Harkin’s staff
travels across the state to ensure that all
Iowans have easy access to constituent services
and information. The “Listening Posts”
supplement office hours already in progress at
Harkin’s five regional offices in Cedar Rapids,
Davenport, Des Moines, Dubuque, and Sioux
City.
