Vice Chair Angel González

I have served in this capacity since elected at the IDP State Convention this past summer. I also serve as the Affirmative Action Chair for the 2nd Congressional District.

I am a Labor Educator and work at the University of Iowa Labor Center. My family and I moved to Iowa from Puerto Rico and now reside in Iowa City. I attended Penn State University where I received a BS in Labor Studies and Industrial Relations and later obtained a JD from the University of Puerto Rico.

My goals for the Latino Caucus include:

  1. Maintaining a voice at the table for Latinos throughout Iowa.

  2. Securing inclusion of issues affecting Hispanics in all platforms and forums of the Iowa Democratic Party.

  3. Increasing the outreach to and recruitment of Latino activists and candidates into our Democratic Party.

  4. Ensuring our party’s leadership reflects the community it represents.
