Iowa State Treasurer Michael FitzgeraldTreasurer Michael FitzgeraldMichael L. Fitzgerald was first elected State Treasurer of Iowa in 1982. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, and completed high school in Colo, Iowa. He then attended the University of Iowa and received a B.S. in Business Administration. Prior to being elected state treasurer, Fitzgerald worked as a marketing analyst for Massey Ferguson Company in Des Moines for eight years.

Iowa State Assembly

Senate Majority Leader Mike GronstalMike Gronstal, from Council Bluffs, has been the Senate Democratic Leader since 1997. First elected to office in 1982, Gronstal served one term in the Iowa House (1983-85), and is currently in his sixth term in the Senate. He serves as the chairperson of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee.
