Des Moines – The Iowa Democratic Party announced today that Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley will keynote the Iowa Democratic Party’s 2014 State Convention on Saturday, June 21 in Des Moines.

“The Iowa Democratic Party is excited to welcome Governor O’Malley back to Iowa this year to kick off our general election season,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Scott Brennan. “Governor O’Malley has fought to make government work for the people of Maryland by creating jobs and expanding opportunity for middle class families.  As we head into a vital election year, Governor O’Malley will help support our candidates up and down the ticket as Iowa Democrats work together to change course for our state’s future.”

Governor O’Malley is currently serving his second term as the Governor of Maryland.  Since 2007, his Administration has been delivering results for Maryland families by investing in education, innovation and infrastructure all while protecting the middle class in a fiscally responsible way.

Forthcoming details on media credentials to follow.
