Des Moines, IA – Tom Latham today begins a five week vacation that will bring him back to Iowa, this time with his tail between his legs.

This week, Iowans saw Tom Latham’s transportation bill get pulled after he lost the support of House Leadership, including from his best friend – Speaker John Boehner.  Politico reports that Latham, who was responsible for shepherding the bill through the House, was so upset after the decision that he exclaimed “That’s bulls**t” in a meeting of the House Republican Caucus.

“Tom Latham must be feeling the pain this week after being neutered by his friends in the House Republican Leadership,” said IDP Executive Director Troy Price.  “If Tom Latham cannot work with his friends from within his own party, how can we expect him to be an effective leader for the 3rd District? It is time for Tom Latham to go, and for Iowans to elect someone who can move legislation forward in Washington.”
