DES MOINES – During a special meeting of the Iowa Democratic Party State Central Committee this morning, Scott Brennan was named interim chair of the Iowa Democratic Party.  Brennan previously served as chair of the IDP from 2006-2008, and currently serves as one of Iowa’s representatives on the Democratic National Committee.

“I am honored that the State Central Committee has asked me to once again retake the chairmanship of the Iowa Democratic Party,” said Chair Scott Brennan.  “The Iowa Democratic Party remains one of the strongest state parties in the country, and I look forward to continuing to grow and strengthen the party as we prepare for the critical elections of 2014.”

Brennan takes over for outgoing chair Tyler Olson who announced earlier this week that he will be stepping down to explore other options for elected office in 2014.
