No off year for Democrats and the caucus discussions

If you were to open up this morning’s Des Moines Register and flip to the opinion section, you’d see a familiar name: Sue Dvorsky!

Chairwoman Dvorsky penned an op-ed highlighting the importance of our caucuses in 2012. Yes, we know who the nominee will be but there’s so much more to do:

The Democratic caucuses are also an important tool for supporters to become engaged in local campaigns, and county Democratic Parties who work tirelessly to elect public servants at all levels. They’re also the beginning of our party platform process. Democrats wishing to represent Iowa on the national stage as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., begin the delegate selection process during the precinct caucuses.
