Yesterday, Representative Steve King once again put his foot in his mouth by joining other republicans around the country denouncing BP’s plans to create a $20 billion victim’s escrow fund for those affected by the oil spill. Earlier Representative Barton called it a “shakedown” while Representative Michelle Bachmann called it “extortion.” What is Brenna Findley’s position?

“Brenna Findley is campaigning to be Iowa’s chief law enforcement officer,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Sue Dvorsky. “What can we expect from her if she were elected Attorney General? Would she stand with the people of Iowa or would she come down on the side of big business like her former boss and the woman raising money for her?

Findley recently served as Representative King’s Chief of Staff in Washington, DC. She has received his support in her bid for Iowa Attorney General along with many other prominent republicans. This weekend Representative Bachmann is holding a fundraiser for her campaign in conjunction with the Republican Party’s State Convention.

“Iowans deserve to know where Ms. Findley stands on this important issue, should she be judged by the company she keeps or will she denounce these comments in advance of this week’s events” asked Dvorsky.
